Description
COMPOSITION:
Doxycyclin (hiclate) 100 mg
Excipient q.s. 1 ml.
PROPERTIES:
TABERNIL DOXICICLINA oral solution contains as a unique active ingredient doxycyclin, a bacteriostatic antibiotic of the tetracycline group. Its antibacterial action is the result of the union by chelating unions of the 30S subunit of the ribosome with the phosphate groups of the messenger RNA, avoiding the union of the transference RNA with the messenger RNA.
Its microbial spectrum includes:
Gram (-) bacteria: Pasteurella spp., Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp.
Gram (+) bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp. And Clostridium spp.
Mycoplasma, Rickettsiae, Chlamydia and some protozoa.
INDICATIONS:
Treatment of infectious processes, respiratory or digestive, caused the abovementioned microorganisms. Treatment of chlamydiasis in psittaci.
TARGET SPECIES: Canaries and ornamental birds in general.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
In general add TABERNIL DOXICICLINA in the drinking water a a dose of 5 ml for 1,5 litres, equivalent to 4 drops for each 60 ml of drinking water, during 5 consecutive days.
Prepare treated water daily.
In the particular case of treating chlamydiasis in psittaci, administrate directly 0.5ml/kg body weight, equivalent to 1 drop per 100 g of body weight, twice a day, during 45 consecutive days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administrate to animals with reports on sensitivity to tetracyclines.
SECONDARY EFFECTS:
Photosensitivity cases have been reported. In long treatments digestive disorders might appear caused by intestinal dysbiosis.
INTERACTIONS:
Avoid administrating together with supplements of calcium and/or iron during the treatment, since the absorption of the antibiotic could be reduced.
